Soul Food

Meeting our spiritual needs is as important as paying attention to our physical and emotional needs. Most of us feel driven to meet appetites that can’t be satisfied. “Our aim is to create an ever increasing desire for an ever diminishing result,” is the advice one demon gives to another in C.S. Lewis’ “Screwtape Letters”. Likewise, whatever drug brought us relief and joy becomes less and less effective because we are starving spiritually as well as socially.
