You know there are people who actually thank God for their addiction. Having been brought to our knees by an uncontrollable addiction, we came to realize how many other things in life are also beyond our control. As a result of desiring sobriety and peace of mind and soul, we made a decision to trust a Power outside ourself to care for us. That is difficult for any strong, independent person, but defeated by our addiction we swallowed our pride and became willing to try something totally different. When we did, we found that our Creator does care for us and desires to help us more than we ever imagined possible.
God is Spirit and we only come to know Him when He revives our broken soul. But if you don’t trust what your heart tells you the Spirit is saying, here are some facts (linked above) to help you see how others have dealt with this, and to give you some pretty darn good evidence for a Creator. Or if you need some help strengthening the faith you already have, check the links above and on our Soul Food page.
